Hospite- a respite for professional Hospice caregivers.

Hospite by Iowa Cremation

Our Hospite™ program is a respite for professional Hospice caregivers. It is designed as a FREE annual program to provide time for reflection, networking opportunities, and continuing education for hospice and palliative care professionals in Iowa. Attendees include doctors, nurses, clergy, social workers, volunteers, and support staff. They represent a special group of caregivers who embrace meaningful end-of-life care and support for the families who are facing the loss of a loved one.

Iowa Cremation is blessed with a staff of caring professionals who also share your passion for caring for those who have experienced a death loss or are facing one.

It is our mission to continue the compassionate and dignified care they have received through your organization. Our similar goals and challenges call for our continued and frequent dialogue on how to best serve the dying and the surviving family.

Hospite is a day-long workshop that features prominent speakers from the Hospice and palliative care community. Past speakers include Dr. Alan Wolfelt, founder of the Center for Loss, and David Kessler, a nationally recognized expert on Hospice and founder of Grief.com. The program is approved for continuing education units for nurses and social workers through Kirkwood Community College, and Iowa Cremation pays all associated fees for the CEUs. A continental breakfast, snacks and delicious lunch are provided for the attendees. Because seating is limited, Iowa Cremation asks for those who are interested in Hospite to please register.
