Robert Rudolph Koeppen Selk

Robert Rudolph Koeppen Selk, 89, of Dysart, Iowa, passed away on February 22, 2026, just 25 days after celebrating his 89th birthday.  Robert will be buried in the Dysart Cemetery.

He was born on January 28, 1937, to Rudolph and Louise Selk. Bob graduated from Dysart High School in 1955 and later attended Wartburg College where he received his degree in business administration in 1959. After college, he worked for Maytag and later retired as a manager from Job Service of Iowa. He also had his own tax business and would farm.

He had a deep desire to help others, a generous spirit, and a twinkle in his eye that never quite faded. Bob’s life was marked by resilience, humor, and a genuine affection for the people around him. Those who knew him will remember his stories, his work ethic, and his steady presence.

Bob is survived by his children: Stuart Selk, Sarah (Joseph) Strus, Gretchen (Kevin) Mellecker, and Sophie Selk; grandchildren: Sarah, Michael, and Christian “Robert” Strus, who brought him great joy. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved aunts, ‘Tante Martha’ and ‘Tante Etta’, who lovingly spoiled him throughout his youth and remained cherished figures in his memory.
