Ricky "Rick" Schropp
Of those "ties that bind", one of my strongest is for the Shueyville community. My brother, Ron, and I went to the same school and prayed at the same church as the Schropp siblings; our mother, Lottie, helped make kolaches along side Hazel for the yearly church bazaar. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they struggle with this overwhelming loss of Ricky.
I’m met Rick before he was married and at the time when he was building his house and I met his first daughter when she was a baby. I remember lots of fun times at his home, including all the work on the house that was completed by a group of his friends as well as sledding parties. However, what I remember, most is what a kind person Rick was, always willing to help out and very genuine. My thoughts and prayers are with the family…
Ricky was one of the best humans I have met in my profession. You could always count on Rick! Never late, always gave 100% effort and was a true joy to work with. Rick taught me more about life and basic construction morals than anyone I have worked for or with. I would always give Rick a call driving by his acreage to and from work. I have always missed Rick since He retired. They don't make humans like Rick anymore! He was a classic genuine human. He will be greatly missed by many. I had several conversations with industry professionals this week. We need more genuine people like Rick in 2024. He will be missed greatly! Heaven picked up a GREAT One!
I am sad to hear of Ricks passing. I worked with him on the CNW RR. We helped build his log cabin. I remember new years he built a ramp out of hay bails & we would tube down the hill in below zero weather. I thought of Rick often . His wife fixed my foot when I ripped my toe nail off. Great guy with a great family' best regards Steve Hauser
