Gloria Louise Eells, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away, Friday, January 26, 2024, at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids.
Gloria was born on August 3, 1937, to Norval and Shirley (Meeker) Eells. Gloria completed her master’s degree in education from the University of Iowa. She taught history in the Cedar Rapids school district for over 30 years before retiring from Washington High School. Gloria was an active member of the St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. She loved reading, dogs, and taking walks.
Gloria is survived by her nieces and nephews, Michael (Julie) Eells, Beth (David) Hallett, Traci Butts, Jennifer (Michael) Carell, Brandon (Rachel) Eells, and several great nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Norval and Shirley (Meeker) Eells of Cedar Rapids, brothers Paul Eells and Norman Eells and sister-in-law Vickie (Crow) Eells.
There will be no public visitation or services at this time. A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cedar Rapids Hospice.
