Bettie Ogden Miller

I was saddened to learn of the death of Betty. Such a wonderful person. My wife and I both enjoyed talking with her when we were back in Anamosa, especially at Cass Church. She was a dear friend of my sister, Evelyn Purcell Newhard.

Years ago, when we lived in town, Cindy and I would often take walks in the cemetery, where we would typically encounter Bettie walking with Amy. Like clockwork! She always had a smile and kind word for us. She was also a frequent visitor to the library, where I worked, and it was always a pleasure to serve Bettie, who carried herself with such dignity, grace, and character. She was truly one of the good ones, and will be missed by all who knew her. Our condolences to the family and all affected by her passing.
