Stephen Lee Pettus
Steve worked for me in 1976 at the Dows Building in Cedar Rapids. We published one of the first computer magazines in the world ("MicroTrek"). Steve was the manager of advertising and promotion. We traveled to one of the first computer fairs, held in Atlantic City, NJ. At the computer fair Steve introduce me to a young man who was demonstrating a small microcomputer. His name was Steve Jobs. The computer was the Apple One! Microtrek Magazine is in the National Computer Museum and Steve’s name is on the Publisher’s page. He is a part of the history of the personal computer, and he was right there when it all happened! Steve was a great guy, always full of energy and very positive. I would like to think his time working with me on the computer magazine led to his becoming an engineer with the power company. I was saddened to learn that he passed 2022. God bless Steven Pettus!
Gina, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I have only fond memories of him. Games of pool in the basement and pinball with the buffalo head nickels. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.
To Steve’s family, We are shocked and saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. We will miss him and miss being able to come over for his advice/knowledge on many things. We are sincerely sorry for the loss. RIP Steve! Brian and Marta Philiph
Always enjoyed the good times playing pool, etc. Rest in peace my friend.
I am Steve’s Physical therapist. His goal with me was to get his body back to where he could enjoy keeping up with his grandkids and his family. He worked so hard with me and was always respectful every visit. I’ll miss seeing him dearly and hope your family is proud to have such a great man.
