I was Jack’s neighbor renting across the street and saw him every day coming and going to his apartment. He came over for dinner a couple of times to thank him for helping me jump start my car in February at -25 below zero. He talked about his daughter in Iowa City and his son in Texas. It was shocking to hear he passed away because we chatted at the gym just a month or two ago. My thoughts and prayers for everyone in the family.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Jack's passing. We were friends and neighbors in Maharishi Vedic City. I'll forever remember Jack as a very kind and caring individual. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a piece of sage advice. This past Spring he helped me with a move I made to Cedar Falls, assisting with wrapping household items and loading a moving van. And, who could forget his enormous tomato plants out on his deck! I was one of the lucky recipients of his harvest! May he rest in peace... Sending my sincerest condolences to his family.
The last time I spoke with Jack was early September...generally when Jack would come to Des Moines every 3-4 months we would meet for a beer or two. I had not heard from Jack for a while so I texted 4 times in February and March. Of course, I had no idea he was gone. I was unaware of any health problems. Jack was a good guy. He loved his kids immensely. Is there anything more important? Nope. I hope your spirit has made it to a new dimension of tranquility and happiness as you await those you loved here on earth.
