Kenneth Louis Kiernan, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Kenny was born on October 8, 1939, to Wilson and Florence (Schuster) Kiernan in Dubuque, Iowa. He graduated from Marion High School and served in the United States Army prior to working at Alliant Energy as a lineman for 40+ years. He married Marilyn Zeimetz on September 2, 1961, in Elma, Iowa; together they raised four children. He enjoyed going out for breakfast, trips to the casino, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include four children, Tina (Bob) Nelson, Todd (Linda) Kiernan, Traci Sandeen (Rod), and daughter in law, Kelly Kiernan; Grandkids, Josh (Megan) Nelson, Kirsten Nelson, Kandice (Leandro) Martinez, Madison Sandeen, Bryce Kiernan, Hunter Kiernan, and Colin Kiernan; Great Grandkids, Holden, Brody, Paige, Owen, and Luciana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn, son Troy Kiernan.
