Dorothy F. Birky

To the Birky Family: We will never forget all the kindness that Harold and Dorothy showed our children over the years starting with making a cradle for the first born. Following were many furniture items that Harold made for them to enjoy, ie: stove, cupboards for doll clothes, etc,. I loved Dorothy's laugh and can still hear it. Thinking of all of you. They loved each one of you and talked of you often over the years. They will remain in our hearts forever.

To Sandy and family. So sorry for the loss of your mother, Dorothy. She was a fun one at the quilt retreats at CVG. I still have a small applique from her hanging in my quilt room and think of her often. I pray that God's peace be with you through this difficult time.

I met Dorothy when she came in my shop to pick out fabric for her first applique quilt. She decided to make a quilt with hearts appliqued in small blocks like one I had been working on for about 2 years. Within 2-3 months Dorothy was back with her finished top and she never slowed down. She came to my first all nighter at the shop and said she had to stay all night because her kids said she'd never make it! She did and we so enjoyed having her there. I so enjoyed spending time with Dorothy. I have lots of good memories from our quilt retreats at Cedar Valley Grove. I miss her and am so sorry for your loss. Connie

My most sincere condolences to the family. Bobbi and I had known, worshipped together, served on committees together for many many years. I especially recall the numerous Cedar Valley Grove reunions that Dorothy was such a force with Shirley Howard then Bobbi in the kitchen. For a time, she and I enjoyed piano time together, with lessons in her home. I will cherish her memory, and I mourn the loss of a great lady.
