Charles Franklin Shockley
Truly a sad loss for radio and our state... RIP Chuck
Sad news. Chuck was a fun guy to be around. He was very passionate about his work, a true professional, and had many interesting stories to share. Condolences to all his family & the many people he touched over the years. God Bless
Very sorry to learn of Chuck’s passing. I worked with him at KSO early in his career. He was an outstanding broadcaster whose work I admired. Also a nice person. Condolences to you and your family.
My heart felt condolences go out to the family. Chuck and I spent alot of time together in and around an Impact Pro Wrestling ring. He was a great ring announcer, radio personality and friend. Chuck was nice, friendly and had a good sense of humor. And he knew how to talk...alot. ?? I'll miss you Chuck! And you'll be missed by many Rest In Peace Chuck " The Golden Esophagus" Shockley! -Billy J.
You were my first ever broadcast partner on air when we co-hosted the Iowa High School Football Scoreboard Show together in the 90s. Those were fun times for me when I was in my infant days of broadcasting. Thanks for showing me the ropes Chuck. My condolences to your wife and family.
Was always great seeing Chuck at the Impact Pro Wrestling shows over the years. My thoughts are with his family.
I went to middle and high school with Chuck. I always admired his powerful voice. He was a kind and caring person. We connected periodically as adults and found him to be as kind as always. I'm saddened to hear the news of his passing.
My sympathies to his family. He was proud of you and often shared stories of your time together. I knew Chuck from his days in Algona and I spent a lot of time talking with him regarding Council proceedings and events happening in Whittemore. He reported with great accuracy and he was a pleasure to work with. We were also Facebook friends and I enjoyed his posts. I'm sorry to hear of his death. Play he rest in peace.
My condolences to the family...who obviously are in a time of crisis and mourning right now. I hope that Chuck was able to shield you all from the madness of working in broadcasting and help you on your own journeys. As someone who worked with Chuck at WHO, I could tell stories about him...but they're best left for other venues. Rest in peace, Chuck...you've earned it! You worked hard in the broacasting industry at a time of great upheaval!
