Joy A. Smith, 79, of Papillion, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018. A celebration for friends will be in Spring 2019 followed by a private graveside service in DeWitt, IA.
Joy was born on October 26, 1939 to Herman and Desyle Goetz Koch in Moline, IL. Joy graduated from Geneseo High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Donald Smith on December 2, 1961 in Geneseo. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Ci-Ed Club. Joy moved to Nebraska to be near her daughter, Kay in 2017. Joy loved working with needlepoint, playing cards, traveling, caring for her dog and spending time with her granddaughter, Tess Muñoz.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Memorial donations may be directed to Clinton County Humane Society, Wounded Warriors, or Camp Courageous.
