Mark Peveto

Mark Wayne Peveto, 44, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ On Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center Cedar Rapids.  This was his ultimate victory after a long-fought battle with cancer.  

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday December 2nd, at Cedar Rapids First Assembly of God Church, (Blairs Ferry Road). 

Survivors include his wife Alicia Peveto of Cedar Rapids; parents Sam Peveto and Pat Webb of Orange, TX; in-laws Terri and Perry Tharp of Palo; in-laws Paul and Julie Richards of Cedar Rapids; sisters Renee (Brent) Fontenot of Orange, TX; Jeannie (Kemon) Zenos of Orange, TX; Cindy (Joe) Rebeiro of Manteca, CA; Samantha (Ronnie) Haymon of Orange, TX, and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Horace and Lola Peveto, and  maternal grandparents Walter  and Addie Cagle. 

Mark Wayne Peveto was born October 11, 1973 in Orange, TX.  He was the son of Sam Peveto and Pat (Cagle) Webb.  He graduated from the Texas School for the Blind in Austin, TX in 1993.  He worked for many years as a switchboard operator at the VA Hospital in Biloxi, MS.  In 2014 he met the love of his life, Alicia Richards.  They married on September 9, 2016. 

Mark considered Alicia his "Princess," as she considered him her " Southern Prince."    He enjoyed working with old technology, cooking Southern food, and making others laugh with his stories and humor.  Above all, his passion was for worshipping his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his surviving spouse.
