Lara, I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for your friendship over 16 years. Thank you for sharing the example of your parents marriage. I sincerely appreciated the cards and letters that I received from them from time to time. I enjoyed visiting your home while we were at Beloit College together and marveling at your Mom's capabilities as a seamstress. Our time at Theta Pi Gamma, your postcards while I was in Peace Corps, my never ending thanks for being the maid of honor at my wedding in Ottawa to Tory (...Naomi :-)), your Dad's visit the month Hannah was born, and so many holidays and birthdays we have shared over the years. I apologize for the rough time our friendship had during my divorce. I wanted to leave my sincere condolences here for the loss of your Dad. Please stay well and happy, Lisa.
Lara, I always enjoyed seeing your father at Cottage Grove when I would visit my mother, Shirley Thompson. He often sat at my mother's table when she was in Health Care for a few weeks and they enjoyed talking to one another. Your father would always give me a smile and would recognize me. Mom also made a point of stopping to talk to your mother when she would sit by the nurses' desk. They were both nurses and I know they would have enjoyed one another if they had met when they were younger. It was nice to see you in The Grill or dining room when you visited. Your entire family seemed very nice and I enjoyed them. Thinking of you. Hang in there Lara. Pam Mahany
May you rest in peace, Lowry. It was a pleasure seeing you at Coe College when I worked there in the 70s and later from time to time at campus events.
