Michael John Jagielski

Michael John Jagielski, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  

Michael was born April 5, 1942, the son of Walter and Helen (Besiak) Jagielski in Bessemer, MI. He served in the United States Army. Michael worked for WMT for forty-two years. He began there as the Continuity Director and later he wrote and produced commercials. After his partial retirement from WMT, he continued to work at a switchboard operator. Michael was in a band from high school to 1993, where he played the guitar. He enjoyed Ham Radio and loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew him.

Survivors include his two children, Sherry (Joseph) Hunter, Jeff Jagielski; three grandchildren, Thomas Gerdts, Courtney Jagielski, Jenna Hunter; brother, Paul (Sherry) Jagielski; two nieces, Dawn Jagielski, Jill (Fred) Pilipuf; one great niece; two great nephews; and several cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Memorials may be directed to the family in Michael’s memory.
