Robert W. Adams, 51, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday March 7, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janine, two sons Jordan (Shana) of Waddell, AZ., Ross of Surprise, AZ., a daughter Alyssa Adams and her significant other Tyler of Phoenix, AZ., a brother Doug (Marsha) of South Sioux City, Nebraska and sisters Sheryl (Bob) Hild of Waterloo and Paula Adams of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Alivia, Omari and twins Jayden and Gabby. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rob was born on April 25, 1963 in Cherokee, Iowa the son of Oscar and Inez Tharp Adams. He married Janine M. Gribben on June 8, 1985 in Mason City. Rob retired as a police officer in Mason City and later worked at Klein Tools in Cedar Rapids for several years.
Rob was a baseball coach for the Mason City Little League for over 14 years. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and the many family trips to Myrtle Beach.
Rob was wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to the Iowa Police Association.
