Thomas Neil Tietjens

Thomas Neil Tietjens, 66, of Waterloo, died at Manor Care Wednesday, August 26th.

He was born November 2, 1948, in Dubuque, IA, son of Reginald and Ilene Murray Tietjens.

Tom proudly served his country and his community. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1966, he joined the US Marine Corp in 1967 and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam. From 1975 to 2000 he served on the Waterloo Fire Departmant as a firefighter, a paramedic, and a medical supervisor.

Survived by: Sisters Linda Locklin (Gerald) of Daphne, AL; Kathy Obermann (Greg) of Ft. Collins, CO; Connie Berman (Bruce) of Greeley, CO; many nieces and nephews.

Preceeded in death by: His parents; a sister, Karen Tietjens; a niece, Erin Obermann.

Services: Private burial will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation, Cedar Rapids, IA
