Edward P. Junkins
Dad, Our family will forever remember you for your unconditional love and support. Your generosity was without boundaries and your appreciation for life's simple pleasures was a refreshing reminder always. May your fishing line be untangled and your supply of night crawlers endless. We love and miss you.
Dad, you were my friend, protector, confidant and role model. Your eternal optimism and positivity remained even up to your dying days. Thank you for being such beautiful, loving and kind person. I'm so proud to call you my dad and miss you very much.
To the whole Junkins family, you have my deepest sympathies as you grieve the loss of your father. You are a very special family, and your dad had a huge part in that. I hope your family is able to share some time together that is meaningful and sweet. Special hugs to Eddie & Gigi.
I feel so very blessed and honored to have known Ed. You could always count on him for a big smile and a kiss to brighten your day. He was a people person and loved life. He had a deep love for his family and always enjoyed their visits and phone calls. He was so generous and giving of himself. I will never forget our "road trip" to Des Moines. I had to go to Des Moines and really didn't want to go alone, but didn't say anything. And in that moment, Ed asked if he could ride with me. I was so excited and I said, absolutely. Ed and I drove to Des Moines, chatting the entire way. He chose a Chinese buffet for lunch and we had good food and great conversation. He will be deeply missed by myself and all of his Country View family. My deepest sympathies go out to the Junkins family for your tremendous loss.
we remember Ed fondly from our Coralville days He will be missed
All of my thoughts and blessings to your family for your loss. I hope your many fond memories will carry you through this difficulty time. Toni Cilek
Ed, your Dad and my Dad played football together in High School, and I heard many times what good friends they were. Well, neither of us played football in HS, but I sure did admire the way you "worked" those drums.
Ed you are so missed. You and Norman are probably already fishing and looking for a place to pick strawberries. You were such a great support for my children and me when we lost father/husband. Your sense of humor was the greatest. Your caring ways are a testimony of what you were to many friends. May join you be for too long my friend.
Deepest apologies to Paul Edward Junkins, Ed's nephew, and to his mom, Peggy Junkins, that we who wrote and edited this obituary neglected to mention Paul. Ed was SO PROUD of Paul, and often reminisced about his visits with Paul. He was proud that you have always stayed close to and taken care of your mom.
To the family of Edward Junkins Sr. It was a pleasure to serve Ed and you his family during this time at country view. I've only met ed a short time ago but his heart of gold will win you the 1st time you meet him. He will forever remain in our hearts. John 16:22 22 So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. I will continue to bless and keep the family during this time. Adrienne France Aka AGEE Employee at Country View
Dad, I love you from the bottom of my heart. You were the best dad I could have ever asked for. Thank you for your unconditional love for me throughout my life. I am so grateful that we had time together in Iowa City to share many lunches together and here in Florida so you could fish with my kids, eat at Dixie Crossroads, and just be here with my family and my dog, Frodo, who misses you also! May you rest in peace with our sweet Lord Jesus Christ. Until I see you again...

To Ed's family, What a great guy he was, I use to work at the front desk at the Heart & Vascular center at UIHC, he always had the biggest smile and was just a neat guy. I still do scheduling for HVC and he always knew my name when I would call and say, Hello Mr. Junkins, his reply, Julie....call me Ed!!!!! You are in our thoughts and prayers. Julie, Rick, Michelle & Sam Pelechek
Just knowing he is not in this world makes it hard today. We were out of town when he passed away. Our deepest sympathy to Mary and all of Ed's Family. He was a good friend and kind person.
Eddie (known as at BHS) was a great drummer and friend. High school band trips were a "hoot" with Eddie on board. He was a friend to all.
Mary, I only knew Ed slightly through the taiji workshops, but he was a kind and warm person whose presence was felt and appreciated. I know you will miss him terribly. My condolences. Sally
