Obituary for James "Jim" Aspinall

James "Jim" P. Aspinall, 64, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at St. Luke''s Hospital following a sudden illness. Per his wishes he was cremated. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:30 AM with a visitation beginning an hour prior at St. Pius X in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Wayne Ressler officiating. James Patrick Aspinall was born on September 8, 1949 to James Joseph and Burnita Gaffney Aspinall in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was united in marriage to Marsha Kruckenberg on October 12, 1991 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha for 20 years. Jim worked for the Abbe Center as a Family Therapist in the Vinton, Anamosa, and Belle Plaine locations. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Marsha; sons, Aaron and Jacob Aspinall both of Cedar Rapids; father, Jim (Elizabeth) Aspinall of New Port Ritchey, FL; siblings, Mary Jo (Bruce) Gardner of CA; Julie (Jerry) Pluss and Art (Sara Mellen) Aspinall both of Denver, CO; and Jean (Mark) Clayton of Holy Oak, CO; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Burnita. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Luke''s Hospice.
