Obituary for Verl E. Timm

Verl E. Timm, 73, of West Union, passed away on Saturday May 11, 2013 at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Zion Luthan Church, 130 Washington Street, West Union, IA 52175. Memorial service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church. Verl Ervin Timm was born on March 20, 1940 to Ervin and Verla Gager Timm in Hawkeye, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Patricia Burkhart on August 12, 1960 at Richfield Church. He worked at Wilbur Ford Sales for 42 years and retired as co-owner. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church as well as the West Union Rotary Club. Verl was blessed to have been able to travel extensively with his family. He loved his time camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, and simply being outdoors. Verl was extremely proud of his family and will always be remembered for the way he brought great joy to his grandchildren. His greatest passion was his marriage of 52 years to his loving wife, Pat. Together they lead a wonderful life together of dancing, playing cards, and spending time with close friends and family. Verl was greatly loved and will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Marty Timm of Freeburg, MO; daughter, Beth (Ken) Heying; grandchildren, Kindra, Kyle, and Kortney Timm and Alexander and Halle Heying; great grandson, Dalton Timm; sisters, Peggy Cabulke of Manchester; Joyce Pattison of Fayette; and a brother, Dean Timm of Boone. Verl was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Darvin, Jerald, and Dennis Timm; a sister, June McLeish; and great grandson, Austin.
