Obituary for Howard E. Lemke

Howard E. Lemke, 88, of Waterloo, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Bartels Lutheran Nursing Home in Waverly. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Howard Erwin Lemke was born on April 18, 1925 to Erwin and Ella Buhr Lemke in Sumner, Iowa. He proudly served in the Air Force during WWII. Howard was united in marriage to Lorraine Keavy on April 7, 1945 in Alexandria, Louisiana. He had an interest in cars and was known as the Premier Car Guy for 42 years. Howard enjoyed hunting and most of all fishing. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; sons, Al (Judy) Lemke of Belvidere, Il and Larry Lemke of Thailand; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; uncle and aunt, August and Nora (Buhr) Frahm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Bartels Retirement Community.
