Obituary for Douglas Craig Foster

Douglas Craig Foster, 62, of North Liberty passed away at his home Monday June 24, 2013 surrounded by family. As were his wishes he will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at the family farm: 2395 Halfmoon Avenue NW, North Liberty, IA 52317, on Thursday June 27 from 4-7pm. Douglas is survived by his wife Susan Foster; daughter Traci (Chad) Wood of North Liberty, IA; son Jason (Jody) Foster of Harris, MN; and 3 grandchildren: Colton Wood and Kenadi Wood, both of North Liberty, and Jared Foster of Harris, MN; brothers Larry (Judy) Phippen of Atlantic, IA, Jack (Alberta) Phippen of Council Bluffs, IA, and Keith (Karen) Foster of Redding, CA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one niece and one nephew. Douglas Craig Foster was born July 29, 1950 to Harry Joe and Loretta Mae (Duskin) Foster in Council Bluffs, IA. On February 14, 1971 he married Susan Tessman in Audubon, IA. Douglas worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 35 years before retiring in 2005. His hobbies included fishing, and hunting. Douglas loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
