Mary was a special person; I always enjoyed the time I spent in her company. During my teaching years at Coe, Mary and Fritz were one of the faculty couples I appreciated most. When I visited Mary at Cottage Grove Place to chat it was emotional to see that the ravages of her affliction had so affected her speech that the ideas in her still active and thoughtful mind were expressed with difficulty. My sympathy to Fritz and daughter Lara, and to all those who knew her as a friend.

Dear Lara and Mr. Fredrickson, We were sad to hear of Mrs. Fredrickson's passing. When we think of her, we think of her very valiant spirit, the memory of which we hope is a comfort to you both.
Dear Fritz and Lara, We were so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. We had many interesting conversations over the fence when we were neighbors in the 70's and 80's. Mary was always up on the events in the world and eager to converse about it. Olivia and Simon remember all of you fondly and send their sympathy as well.
