James R. Elliott

James R. Elliott, 79, of Marion died of cancer on Friday September 7, 2012 at the home of his daughter in Cedar Rapids. Graveside service will be held at Noon on Saturday, September 15th at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements, Survivors include two daughters Becky (Sean) Elliott of Cedar Rapids and Brenda (Chad) Bond of Marion; a son Robert of Hiawatha, and two sisters, Rose Elliott of Cedar Rapids and Jean McInerney of Anamosa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim was born on October 29, 1932 in Waukon, the son of Cyril and Helen Howes Elliott. He was a master millwright and worked through Local 2158. Jim was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and proudly served in the Air Force. He enjoyed working on cars, reading, relaxing on his acreage and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
