Linda May Curtis

Linda Mary Curtis, 59 of Arlington, Iowa passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Manchester Regional Medical Center. A celebration of Linda''s life will be held from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on November 3rd at Linda''s home, 627 Clay Street, Arlington, Iowa 50606. No graveside services will be held. Linda Mary Curtis was born August 27, 1953 in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Verna Hemsath Curtis. Linda graduated from Starmont High School Class of 1971. She worked for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and Manchester. She then attended Kirkwood Community College and graduated with a horticulture and floral design degree in 2004. She owned and operated her own floral shop called "The Wildflower". Linda also worked for the Corner Market and Greenhouse in Oelwein for the last several years. Linda loved gardening, landscaping, camping and spending time with her beloved friends and family. Linda is survived by a daughter Darcy (Dave) Kurth of Arlington; son Chad (Becca) Hayes of Ames; 4 grandchildren, Josh Yearous, Brandon, Penny, and AJ Hayes; 4 brothers, Glenn (Connie) Curtis Jr. of Lamont; Mike (Mary) Curtis of Marion; Richard (Barb) Curtis of Ely; Andy (Brenda) Curtis of Lamont; 2 sisters, Karen (Larry) Glass of Arlington; and Sharon (Don) Vaske of Strawberry Point. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Laura Curtis and Kathy Curtis. Special thanks to the Arlington EMT''s, the staff at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester, the hospice department in Manchester, and the Mercy Hall-Perrine Cancer Center in Cedar Rapids. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Curtis House in Oelwein, Iowa.
