Obituary for Steven L. Himschoot

Steven L. Himschoot, 59, of Traer passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Memorial service will be held on December 3, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Traer United Methodist Church with Pastor Kim Gates officiating. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Steven Lee Himschoot was born on January 6, 1953 to Neal and Sylvia Randall Himschoot in Memphis, Tennessee. He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Klang on October 20, 1979 in Traer, Iowa. Steven served the community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Traer Ambulance. He also owned and operated Himschoot Construction for 30 years. Until his death, he worked at the post office as a rural carrier and then a postal clerk. He was also a member of Traer Lions Club for many years. He is survived by his wife; parents, Neal Himschoot and Sylvia Weishapple children, Jennifer (Jay) Dvorak of Clutier; Jason (Rhonda) Himschoot of Traer; and Adam Himschoot of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Andrea, Jared, and Paul Dvorak and Mason Himschoot. A memorial fund has been established.
