Charles A. Jungman

Charles A. "Chuck" Jungman, 87, of Cedar Rapids died Friday November 2, 2012 after a long illness. There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements. He was born in Cedar Rapids on January 17, 1925 to Josephine (Halcek) and Charles Jungman. Chuck served in the Navy and worked for many years in the wholesale lumber industry. He was active in the community, serving on the Linn County Planning Commission, the Linn County Mental Health Center Board, and was a member of the Czech Heritage Foundation. He loved to draw and leaves a wonderful collection of stories and drawings about growing up in the Cedar Rapids Czech community for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia L. (Repass) Jungman; daughters Virginia Allen of Cedar Rapids and Debra (Mohamed) Dahab of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Tamra and Bonnie Williams, Nadia and Sophia Dahab, and Yasser (Katherine) Dahab; sister Margaret Holets of Croften, MD, nieces and great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be given to the Czech Heritage Foundation or the charity of the donor''s choice.
