Russell "Russ" Christensen
I worked with Russ at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. When I read that he requested there be no service, I smiled. I remember him as a very selfless person and thus, would have felt that a service for him would be much ado about nothing. Although I hadn't seen him in many years, I have a mental picture of his constant smile and the world is no doubt, a few laughs shorter without him. I want to express my heartfelt condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace.
May the peace our our Lord Jesus Christ be with you Joyce and your Family.
I worked with Russ at the Fort Dodge correctional facility. He was one nice guy and would do anything for anyone. I am glad I got to see him last year in Humboldt when I passed thru there. Russ will be missed her on earth but will be welcomed into Heaven and he will have that Big smile when we see him again. God Bless Stacy Newgard
Hi Joyce, I couldn't drive thru Humboldt without visiting you guys. I stopped by on the 11th to show Russ a gun that I had won. Russ was always giving me good advice and once in a while wonderful free supper. His stories, laugh and smile, gave me great joy. His home made beer was the best I ever tasted. I'll never forget his cheap reading glasses ( I now wear my own), his bargain shopping, his treasures, most of all, his happy greeting whenever I saw him. My dear friend Russ, I will miss you. Say Hi to Steve Bradwell for me. Love Dan
Russ was a life-long learner. He investigated many interests with great depth and enthusiasm, needing to become an authority on the subject. I remember when he got the disk player and invited all of us over to sit in the warmth of his pot-belly stove, eat fresh batches of popcorn, soup and tomatoes and watch movie after movie on what we now do without even thinking on-demand. Thanks Russ, you'll be missed.
I remember how great a guy Russ was and enjoyed the time we had spent together in our lives at tae kwon do class and after class. A trip to Las Vegas and friends of a kind. Deepest Sympathies to Joyce, Lisa and Jeff !!
