Obituary for Russell "Russ" Christensen

Russell F. Christensen, 73, from Humboldt, passed away on Sunday March 11, 2012 at the Paula Baeber Hospice House in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Humboldt High School in 1957, and then served 4 years in the Air Force and was also involved with the National Guard. On October 1963, he married Joyce Neal of Lu Verne. Russ worked in construction and built homes in Humboldt and the surrounding area for many years. He was active in numerous hobbies and had many interesting collections. At age 60, Russ became a correctional officer and worked at the Fort Dodge Corrections Facility for four years. He was an excellent cook and everyone looked forward to his pizza and Mexican dishes. Russ enjoyed his grandchildren and his great grand son. Russ is survived by his wife Joyce of Humbolt, Iowa; son; Jeff (Ange) Christensen of Humbolt, Iowa; daughter; Lisa (Chad) Loupee of Christal Lake, Illinois; grandchildren; Jason, Amanda and Taylor Christensen of Humbolt, Iowa, David, Kean and Kyle Loupee of Christal Lake, Illinois and one great-grandchild; Alexi; sister; Karen Rutz of Rocklin, California and a brother; Steve Christensen of Humbolt, Iowa. Russ is preceded in death by his daughter; Susan Christensen; parents; Floyd and Eleanor Christensen; 2 sisters; Dorothy Bell and Ruth Wolf. Russ kindly requested that there would be no service upon his passing.
