William Charles Gremmels

Dr. William C. Gremmels, 72, of Muscatine passed away Monday June 18, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. As per his wishes, he will be cremated. A private memorial service will be held. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Dr. William Charles Gremmels was born on May 5, 1940 to Elmer and Florence Roseberg Gremmels in Rock Island, Illinois. He attended Davenport High School and went onto study at Palmer College of Chiropractic. He was united in marriage to Sandra Paul in Muscatine. William was a member of the Delta Sigma Chi Fraternity, American Chiropractic Association, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and the Muscatine Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was part of the Board of Examiners in Basic Science in the State of New Mexico, Kentucky State Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Iowa Chiropractic Society and Palmer College of Chiropractic Alumni Association. He received a Certificate of Study in Functional Endocrinology. William enjoyed collecting Lionel trains, loved salmon and deep sea fishing. Also, building and flying model airplanes, scuba diving and was a gun enthusiast. He enjoyed most of all fishing with his children and grandchildren. He loved being a chiropractor and being able to help his patients feel better. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Robert (Pam) Gremmels of Vista, CA; Sue Gremmels-Reed and Kathy (Marvin) Danz both of Muscatine; and Jerry Purviance of Wilton; grandchildren, Carlli Gremmels, Brooke (Eddie) Montes both of Vista, CA; Amanda and Ashley Reed of Muscatine; and Derek Reed of Illinois City, IL; great-grandchild, Ayvin Lee Newcomb. William was preceded in death by his parents.
