Gary Eugene Arnold
Hi Gary, I am so glad that Allen and I saw you this past Sunday. I still visually see you sitting at the dining room table talking with us. I will cherish Sunday forever. Thank you for being one of my protectors growing up. You always had a big heart and still do. My heart is sad because we lost you so early. Enjoy being with Dad and Ralph Gordon now. You have a lot of catching up to do with them. We will see you again one day. Love and miss you lots! Allen, Pam and Aaron.
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Gary. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. Gary and I were very close friends during and just out of high school. I played football with Gary, but wasn't on the team that won the state championship as I had graduated the year before. Even though I was not able to play, I did attend all of the games that year and was very proud of the accomplishments of that team and of Gary. That was the team that established Mt. Vernon as a football power. Gary and I were actually roommates at one time, and we shared a house in Lisbon with a couple of other close friends just out of high school. That was a very interesting time in my life as I,m sure it was in Gary's. Needless to say, at one time in both of our lives Gary and I experienced some wonderful life experiences as very good friends. I can never forget Gary's laugh or the way he used to make other people laugh. I will always have those memories, and therefore it will always be very easy for me to remember Gary.
My sympathies to Gary's family and friends. I went to high school at Mount Vernon with Gary and enjoyed watching him play football and cheering the Mustangs on to State Championships. I was a year younger than him and the good times the large high school gang of friends had were such fun - those were the good old days. After 35+ years I heard from Gary again last fall - he wondered if I remembered him - as if anyone could forget him. He was calling because I am working with a group to save the old football field in Mount Vernon. We recalled some of those good times and he made a very generous donation to the Save the Field project. I was so shocked to learn of him passing away and I'm glad we were able to remember those wonderful high school years, if only for a little while last fall.
Our deepest sympathy to Garys family from my family & all his friends at work! He was a bright light and always upbeat & cheerful. He is missed by all who knew him and we were blessed to have him in our lives!
Jane and family I am sorry for your loss of Gary. I have lots of memories of living in Martelle, and our boys playing Little League together. I did not know you were in Missouri now. Prayers for all of you
