Gary Eugene Arnold

Gary Eugene Arnold, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died at home Tuesday June 12, 2012. A gathering will be held at his home today at 724 7th St SW from 4-6 p.m. Iowa Cremation is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his mother; Shirley Meyers of Cedar Rapids, his step-mother; Jane M. Arnold of Florissant, Missouri, his siblings; Douglas D. Arnold of Marion, Debbie D. Jensen of Cedar Rapids, Terry L. (Cynthia) Arnold of Cameron Park, California, Larry D. (Nanette) Arnold of Florissant, Missouri, Pamela S. (Allen) Schmidt of Thorton, Colorado, Wendy D. ( Duane) Elsbury of Elberon, Iowa, William D. Meyers of Cedar Rapids, Karen L. Gladwin of Cedar Rapids, Barb A. Meyers of Oelwein, and Lori J. Meyers of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Raymond Arnold, his grandparents, Charles and Anna Arnold, Ray and Helen Anthony, Ray Huff and Rachael Hutchoff. Gary was born October 22, 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Dale and Shirley Huff Arnold. He was employed with the City of Cedar Rapids as a Heavy Duty Driver. Gary loved sports. He played football for Mt Vernon and were state champions in 1974. He also played for Mt Vernon Shriner''s North Football Team, little league baseball and slow pitch. Gary was a Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye Fan. He loved flowers and his birds, Jake and Quizzie. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorials may be directed to the family.
