Beverly Louise Draves

Beverly Louise Draves, 74, of Marion, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 in her home following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Marion Christian Church with visitation starting at 9:30 am. Beverly was born August 27, 1937 in Centerville, Iowa the daughter of Alfred Reno and Reva Marie (Seals) Trumper. Beverly married Ronald Edward Draves on November 1, 1959 in Marion. She graduated from Bloomfield High School, attended the University of Iowa in General Studies and two years of nursing at Mercy. She worked with the St. Luke''s Hospital for over thirty years and six years at the Iowa State Extension Service. Survivors include son David Draves, Sr.; nine grandchildren, Mike Wallis, Mallory Ellis, David Draves, Jr, Damien Draves, Ian Draves, Elizabeth Draves, Avery Cook-Draves, Olivia Draves and Christian Draves; three great-grandchildren; and a sister Barbara Allen and brother-in-law Duane Allen. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Ronald, brother Ronnie Trumper, and son Mark. Beverly was very involved in the Marion Christian Church, the Share Iowa Food Program, Mission of Hope, 4H, and the Cedar Rapids Free Clinic. Hobbies included golf, cooking and watching the food channel and especially her grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Luke''s Hospital, St. Luke''s Hospice, the Marion Christian Church, Ladies of the Iowa State Extension, Bob and Eileen Kunz, and Mary Churchill. Memorial donations may be directed to the family in Beverly''s honor.
