Shannon Sisco

You were my first "real" girlfriend back in 5th or 6th grade. We went to Day Barnes' boy/girl party. We ate pizza and danced to some music and I may even have held your hand breifly. The song I remember was from Kool and the Gang called Celebration. You reminded me that the invitations were shaped like pizza slices. In recent months we reconnected and had some laughs. I got the pleasure of seeing you and Aaron in your home a couple of times and was absolutely stunned by your Faith. Colby, her husband and Isaac were also there. We sat in the kitchen and I could tell that you could already see the face of God. You told us your time was really limited but you were ok with that. You were still more concerned with those left behind. My family was in awe of the love and openness that you shared with us. I will look back on these memories and smile. You will never be forgotten and I am sure that I will seek your advice from above from time to time. You made such an impact on me. Someday you will greet me at the gates of Heaven and say "Welcome, it's been awhile, come on in."

"I must be willing to give whatever it takes to do good to others. This requires that I give until it hurts. Otherwise there is no true love in me, and I bring injustice, not peace, to those around me." Mother Theresa "Let no one ever come to see you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile." Mother Theresa Your strong, couragous, beautiful spirit fill those who were lucky enough to have you in their lives.

Shar and family, I was so sorry to hear of Shannons battle with cancer and her death. Gone from all of you at such a young age. I remember when she was a little girl coming in to see mom at work at Mercy. I will pray for your family as you heal from her passing. God is taking very good care of her and someday, you will see her again. God Bless you all and I will be thinking of you.

I read of a woman who stood to speak At the funeral of her brother. She referred to the dates on his tombstone From the beginning to the end She noted that first came the date of his birth And spoke the following date with tears, But she said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years For that dash represents all the time That he spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved him Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own; The cars, the house, the cash, What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what’s true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read With your life’s actions to rehash Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash?

Shannon has been in our family since I was very young. From the time they met my brother and she were never far apart. Even a blizzard couldn't keep them apart. I remember my brother at the age of 15 leaving our house on a moped IN THE SNOW across town at night, to spend time with Shannon while our parents were at work. There was never another so suited to be with Aaron. Shannon, your humor and laughter were contagious. But the one thing I am certain sticks out in everyone's mind is your love and faith in God. That is why today, I rejoice because I know His promises are always true and I will see you again. You did your whole life as God commanded you were a fisher of men. Now reap those glorious rewards in heaven that you so deserve. Until we meet again......Dusty, Casey, Braxton, Bailey and Ava Wendt

There's a peace I've come to know Though my heart and flesh may fail There's an anchor for my soul I can say "It is well" Jesus has overcome And the grave is overwhelmed The victory is won He is risen from the dead And I will rise when He calls my name No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagles' wings Before my God fall on my knees And rise I will rise Chris Tomlin – I Will Rise We pray that the Lord will send you and your family the peace that goes beyond all understanding. From the little girl I watched grow up to the strong beautiful christian she left us with. May the Lord gives us all strength to get thru life struggles. God is good, don't forget it.

I met Shannon years ago when she trusted me enough to do daycare for her daughters. I would take care of their daughters during the week and then periodically they would take my son Cory to their cabin fishing. The stories that came out of those fishing trips were always so funny. We were separated for a few years because I had a family member passing from cancer, I had stopped daycare for awhile. I received a beautifuil letter from Aaron, a few years back. I met up with Shannon, Aaron and the girls at Wendy's--we rekindled our freindship. I will say I was deeply touched at the maturity of Shannon through out this whole ordeal with her cancer. The whole family had grown even with the ups and downs of life but grown to such a beautiful loving family. I was so happy to know that Shannon was going to get to be a Grandma before she passed and a proud one for sure! Shannon has truly earned her wings and she truly has made us all proud. God has taken a beautiful person home to be with him. Take care Aaron, Morgan and Colby --you are the lucky ones that had her the closest, as her Husband and her Daughters.

I was stuggling with alchohol and drug abuse a few years back, And because of Aaron and Shannon's faith in Jesus They begin to share with me, and let me become apart of their Bible studies. I gave my life to Christ because of their willingness to be used by God. I was instantly freed up from all those addictions. I never knew Shannon before she had cancer, but the two years that I did I seen God do mighty things through her life, and even when she was sick she always wanted people around her and she never let Cancer get the best of her, she was always gracious to everybody. I asked her once if she could be cured of cancer but it meant that I wouldn't have come to know the Lord if she would. She told me not for one second. I will miss my friend, but because of God's grace and her love for Christ. There will be a day that I will get to embrace my friend and thank her for being faithful, And i will get to hear that infectious laugh, and there will be no cancer.
