Shannon Lynn Sisco, 42, of rural Central City, died Friday evening, February 10, 2012 in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at New Convenant Bible Church, Cedar Rapids with Pastor Bob Westfall officiating. Visitation and meal will follow the service at the church. Survivors include her husband, Aaron; daughters, Morgan Sisco of Cedar Rapids and Colby (John) Sisco-Wallander of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Isaac Wallander; siblings, Wade (Michele) Hanson of Waverly, NE, Teresa (Bill) Dake Lazenby of Keystone, IA. Parents, Sharlene Hanson and John (Linda) Hanson. Also surviving are 7 nieces and 7 nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Shannon Lynn Hanson was born January 11, 1970 in Rapid City, South Dakota the daughter of Sharlene & John Hanson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1988 and Kirkwood Community College in 1996. Shannon married Aaron Sisco on November 4, 1989 in Cedar Rapids. Shannon had been a member of Grace Brethren Church since 1998 and then New Covenant Bible Church since 2004. She worked for Dr. Timothy Winegarden since 1996 and Dr. Brad Novak since February 2011. She enjoyed reading, crafting, scrapbooking and especially her time spent with her grandson, Isaac. Shannon''s faith in Jesus was contagious and impacted many people. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Memorials may be given in her name to New Covenant Bible Church, 3090 North Center Point Rd. Cedar Rapids, IA 52411.
