We so like Doug and Karen and know of their love for CAPT Myers. Rest in peace our friend. Dick and Mary Lou
CPT Ralph Meyers was an outstanding police officer. I just began my career as a counselor at Foundation II. CPT Meyers and I worked together trying to solve teenage runaways and child abuse cases. He was an inspiration to me and many of the teenagers that he helped My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Cedar Rapids has lost a great citizen and police officer
So sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed talking with your Dad. He was such a kind man. We both shared the same birthday - January 10th. A few years back Dan and I were at the casino in Bettendorf on this date and were very fortunate to run into Mr. & Mrs. Myers. I enjoyed celebrating along with Mr. Myers. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Chris (Morris) Kolsrud and Dan Kolsrud
Our sympathies to the Myers family at this time of loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dan Myers and his family. Your friends at Hoeganaes Corporation, Gallatin Plant.
I was so sad to open the Gazette and read that Ralph had left us. What a wonderful person! I started my career in 1974 here in Cedar Rapids at the Juvenile Probation Office. He led the Youth Bureau and then Detective Bureau where we worked together on so many juvenile cases. I have seen Ralph at the grocery store, etc, over the years as he would walk from his home to the store. He was in such great shape and such a good example to people to exercise. He so loved his family. He would talk about all of you and the things that he would do with each of you. He truly loved Arlene and the last time I saw Ralph (about 2 years ago), he said that it would have been their anniversary that day. You have so many memories I am sure and for that you can be grateful. Had I known that he was ill, I would have most definitely visited him. I am so happy that I knew and worked with Ralph for so many years. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Bev Slager
So very sorry to hear of your lose.Knew Capt. Ralph since 1965 and you could never find a better man or fairer police officer. This was one man that exemplified the statement "Cedar Rapids Finest."I remember the night that I delivered a piece of plywood to the family home for a train set, which I believe was for Scott.I sat there for an hour visiting with him and JoAnn.Everytime I saw him we would wind up talking about the kids ,of whom he was very proud.Again please accept my heartfelt condolences.Jo,if you don"t remember me,I worked at Suburban Lumber with you.
Back in the day, when all of us were young, our next door neighbors were Marian and Ray Zierath and Ray and Marian would have get togethers at Christmas and New years and thats how we met your MOM and DAD. We would laugh and tell jokes and all of us had a great time together. Later on, I believe it was a party for Arlene at their house on Bever Ave. and we were invited then also. Our fond memories are how much fun your parents were. Our very sincere sympathy to each of you and God's Blessings, Jim and Judy Tucker Marion, Iowa
Sorry,I meant JoEllen.

Jo, Gary and Ben, Sorry for your loss. Take comfort in your memories. Jo, I knew your Dad for many years, he was well respected and liked and it is obvious to all that know you that he passed that on to you. Take Care, Scotty
We just wanted you to know we are thinking of you and that you have our deepest sympathy. Ralph and Arlene were not just customers, they were our special friends. We always enjoyed the banter between them over vehicles, gambling, and whatever else they could think of. They were a very special couple.
