Thinking of you, Gary, and sending my sympathy and prayers for comfort for you in these tough days of loss.
So sorry for your loss Gary, we always enjoyed Marianne at our potlucks. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
The message on this page that describes Marianne as "smart, caring, and principled" captures perfectly a few of Marianne's strongest attributes. I'm so glad, Gary, that she had you at her side during this past decade, which she handled with grace, astonishing strength, and clear-eyed hopefulness. I will immensely miss being able to see her again. I'm so sorry for your loss, and the loss felt by the rest of her family (including her beloved cats).
Thank you for being so supportive during Marianne's illness. I am so sorry for your loss. LaRon
Gary, we send you our sympathy in the loss of your wife. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Gary and friends, This is late. . .having both of you on my mind (and holiday card list.) So sad, and shocked, at Marianne's passing. She was compassionate and strong. . .so glad you both got to experience the West. . .that was one way we connected in library school, but her life was so much more than that. I hope that you find comfort knowing that she truly made a difference in my life and many others. . .Iowa City days and beyond. Sincerely, Karen Griebel
We are sorry for your loss Gary, our sympathy to you and family
Gary; Our deepest sympathies in your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I recall always enjoying visiting your place and admiring the gorgeous gardens and landscaping that Marianne was so skillful at. A true Master Gardener, I looked so forward to receiving and serenity and being reinvigorated from the environment in your and Marianne's back yard.
The GIST family is sorry to hear that Marianne has passed away. Know that we pray for comfort during this time for you and your family.
Marianne's friends, as well as Iowa readers and lovers of books, will miss this smart, caring, and principled woman. May she rest peace, and may there be comfort for the grieving.
Gary, So saddened to hear about Marianne's passing. We are praying for you and your family, that God will comfort you. She was so good to Dad. Thanks for letting me know. Scott Vifquain
