My heart goes out to all of you. I know what a difficult time this is for you. We always enjoyed having Kay attend the family reunions, she kept us on our toes! She stopped by our farm one time on her way to your Uncle Joe's and before she said "Hello" she said, "I'm not staying, I just have to go to the bathroom!" Tell it like it is, Girl!

I worked with Kay at the Bloomfield Public Library for several years. She was a fierce defender of the Library Rights and took no nonsense from anyone who tried to weaken them. She convinced Ed to make the Library his Eagle Scout Project, something for which we were very grateful. Kay shared her love of reading with her children. We were kept on our toes helping Ann find new books to read. Steve, your family is in our thought and thank you for letting me share my memories of Kay. She was one-of-a-kind for sure.

Dear Steve, Anne and Ed, You don't know me but Kay touched my life and my son David's life in such a special way. I taught with her at Fox Valley (band teacher) and she was the aid in my son David's resource room. We had kept in touch since F.V. closed and she was David's biggest fan. He is a pianist. I am so grateful to her, she was a positive influence on his life. She even drug Steve over to Moravia on Valentine's Day to hear him play dinner music at Angel's! We had a nice visit and he was glad to see her too. My deepest sympathy to all of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Lise Nelson

Kay was always fun to talk with. Whether stopping by the house for a garden visit, meeting up in Van Buren county, or running into her on the IWC campus, she was always up for challenging and prodding you a bit...but was always ready to receive the same graciously. You will be missed, Kay.
