Karen "Kadoo" Slycord

Many of you know that Karen and I had our differences over the past several years- for reasons that still escape me. It is truly a shame that this had to happen- but nevertheless it did. She was my sister, and I loved her for that. Everyone picks their own path. She did what she thougth was right for her. I know she was loved by many, but that doesn't mean she wasn't loved by me - she will be missed. I too have many fond memories of Karen.

My sister was one of the most craziest people I ever knew. There was never a dull moment around her. She was kind and caring to thiose her knew and loved her and even some complete strangers. there wasnt anything she wouldnt do for those in need. At one point in her life she was a hard hearted tough fighter, but later in years she had a heart of gold and was a fantastic person. She left a big void in a lot of peoples hearts, but she also left a huge impression on those around her. Love ya and miss ya my sisiter and confidant

I was blessed to have many memories with my Aunt Karen. When I was a little girl I remember riding in her convertable with the top down listeningto Doo Wah Diddy by Manfred Mann. Though she never had any of her own kids, she was wonderful with me and my siblings and especially my kids. I will never forget whenever me and my kids were leaving they would say "see you later alligator" and she said "after while crocidile" She always made me and my kids laugh and that is something I will miss more than ever. She was the craziest person I know!! I was always so emabarassed taking her to Hy Vee when she was wearing her pajama pants and some crazy shirt that had some quirky saying on it that she so proudly showed people to make them laugh, I would give anything to take her on just one more trip out there. Rest in Peace Aunt Karen I hope you know how much we love you and how much you will truly be missed. Give Grandma a hug for me and save me a yahtzee card cause I want to play a game with you guys when I get up there. And if you can drink beer up there, have one with Mike would ya, and tell him how beautiful and crazy his babies are and whatever he is sprinkling on Maddy to make her so ornery, tell him he can stop!! I've learned my lesson ;)
