Karen "Kadoo" Slycord

Karen “Kadoo” Slycord, 60, of Albia died on Thursday February 25th at her home in Albia. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Eagles Club Saturday March 5th from 11a.m. to 3p.m. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Survivors include her sisters Malinda Robnett of Ottumwa and Margaret Repp of DeSoto, MO.; brothers Terry Thompson of Albia, Tom (Willie) Thompson of Ottumwa, Bob (Este) Thompson of Imperial, MO, Stephen Robnett of Glenwood, IA., Brad Robnett of Albia, Randy Robnett of DeSoto, MO.; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Faeolus Thompson, sister Penny, and nephew Michael. Karen was born on January 4, 1951 in Albia, IA., the daughter of Delbert Thompson and Faeolus Robnett. She attended Albia High School and graduated in 1970. Karen worked for Merrill Security for a number of years. She enjoyed many things in life such as drawing and painting cartoons, reading, and listening to the best music of the 60’s. Very special thanks to the many friends who have been there for Karen throughout the years, especially Dalene Merrill, Kathy Evans, and Sue Palmer. Memorial contributions may be given in loving memory of Karen to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.
