David Vaughn
I will miss you very much.
I went into Dave's store about twice a year since 2004. He was such a trustworthy person. I just found out today that he had passed away. I knew of his illness but never guessed it was this bad. I'm shocked. We've lost a great Business Man. My extreme condolences to his Family and Friends.
You will be missed....But I know your in a better place now....No more Pain..No more suffering...May the Lord put his arms around your Family in this time of need...Rest in Peace Dave.
Dave, Many people have told me how wonderful it was that we had Hospice come to our home and help with your care the last weeks of your life. I have told them that it was a priviledge and an honor to be able to care for you during your illness and your final days. It was no trouble, even though you were always a trouble maker! Every time I see Ted Danson on TV, or a clip of an old Johnny Carson show, I see your face. I'll miss our card games and cook-outs, our family gatherings, and all the wacky pictures we took. I'll miss my big brother forever.
Dave, I'm so thankful you're no longer in any pain and aren't suffering. I'm sincerely grateful to have called you a member of my family & Emma will always have a love of coins because of you. I loved hearing your stories about the fishing cabin up in Canada and the adventures you got to go on up there! You will be missed by those who knew you, family as well as friends. May you rest in peace and may the family begin to heal from the loss of a Son, a Brother, an Uncle, and a Great Uncle Love, Meaghan
I was surprised to here of Dave's passing. I knew he was ill but it was still a surprise. We did a great deal of business on comics through the years and he always treated me very fairly. It was so much more than just buying and looking at comics...I will really miss the conversations we used to have. The world can't replace a Dave Vaughn. Rest in peace my friend and God bless your family.
I was trying to put forth my words about our great friend - Dave Vaughn - The Ceder Memorial site makes it difficult - with their advertisements. So I will try to convey to our CRSC membership - what it means to me. Dave was the one that we could trust. He was a tireless worker for our stamp club. I am sure that he did the same for the Cedar Rapids Coin club. Dave has left a hole in my life - I considered him a good friend - and we shared the same birthday - August 1, 1942. You could always go to Dave and get a truthful answer. He loved his hobbies, and the wonderful people that he associated with. He suffered us fools - that is sometimes hard to do. I don't know - really to say - how much he mattered to our clubs and to everyone that he was a friend to. But - we really miss him. And - he was a really good guy. Can't say much more than that. There really should be a heaven - and he should be there. Doing his fishing and stamp and coin things. And just being with his many friends. Mike
Dave was an excellent businessman and he treated me very fairlly. I really enjoyed his fishing stories, especially about his secret lure that was a fish catching machine. My prayers are with you.
Hi Dave, You are a straight-up fellow. Ever since we have known you, you have loved collecting and are always interested in learning something new, despite your expertise. Even though we collectors left here on our Mother Earth feel pain with your loss to us, that pain is buffered by the knowledge that you are looking down on us, trouble-free, hoping the best for us and, more importantly, the best OF us. Thank you for everything you have done for us, and we hope we can take that forward and continue to promote and embrace the love of the hobbies we all love and enjoy. As a side note, we lost you 2 years to the day that we lost our George Baldwin. Dec 26 must be a BAD day for COOL stamp collectors. We will always think of you both on that sad date. Best Regards to you Dave, Tom & Laura Tomaszek
My condolences to your family. You will be remember.
