David Vaughn

David Lee Vaughn, 69, of Cedar Rapids passed away at the home of his sister in Robins, IA surrounded by family on Monday, December 26, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. Inurnment will take place at 3:00 PM Friday December 30, 2011 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no service, however a moment of silence will be shared for those who would like to attend. David is survived by his father Kenneth Vaughn of Marion; 4 siblings: Jim (Jan) Vaughn and Carol (Sean) Egan, both of Phoenix, Arizona; Richard Vaughn of Las Vegas; and Jacklyn (Andy) Schmidt of Robins, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1993. David Lee Vaughn was born August 1, 1942 to Kenneth and Margaret Ann Vaughn in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Washington High School and served in the Marine Corps. After living in Arizona for a number of years, he moved back to Cedar Rapids and for the past 14 years owned and operated C R Collectables in downtown Cedar Rapids. He was an active member of the coin and stamp clubs. Dave''s hobbies included coins, stamps, and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Dave''s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Luke''s Hospice and Dave''s friend Joe, who helped him so much through the years. In lieu of flowers the family would like contributions to be made to St. Luke''s Hospice.
