Obituary for Randy DuWayne Simdorn

Randy D. Simdorn, 56, of Ames, Iowa went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 13, 2010. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, March 16th at the Vertin-Muson Funeral Home in Wahpeton. Visitation will begin at 5 pm and service will begin at 7 pm. Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family. Randy DuWayne Simdorn was born on May 11, 1953 to DuWayne and Gloria (Schlotfeldt) Simdorn. Randy graduated from high school in Lidgerwood, North Dakota. He was united in marriage to Debra Loraas on May 27, 1978 in Hankinson, North Dakota. Randy worked at Clark Equipment from 1971 to 1981. He has been employed by 3M since 1981. Randy belonged to the Ames Noon Kiwanis and was a member of the United Church of Christ. He enjoyed traveling, quilting, fixing things and spending time with family and friends. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society. He is survived by his wife, Deb; two daughters, Laura (Joe) McComish, Plymouth, MN and Leslie (Darin) Gully, Columbia, MO; his mother, Gloria Simdorn; and sister, Brenda Simdorn. Randy was preceded in death by his father.
