Obituary for Kathleen Schreiber-Slycord

Kathleen Schreiber-Slycord, 63, of Muscatine, died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Lone Tree American Legion in Lone Tree. Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family. Kathleen Schreiber-Slycord was born on August 15, 1946 to Arthur and Velma Weise Schreiber in Iowa City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Roger Slycord on October 3, 1981 in Knoxville, Iowa. Kathleen grew up and attended school and graduated from Lone Tree Schools. She received her Masters of Nursing Degree from the University of Iowa. She worked for the University of Iowa for 35 years and retired because of her health. Kathleen was a lifetime member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Lone Tree. She loved dogs, singing, and cooking. Memorial donations may be directed to the Iowa City Hospice or Muscatine Humane Society. She is survived by her husband, Roger; mother, Velma Weise; brothers, James Schreiber of Nichols, Thomas Schreiber of Columbus Junction, and William Schreiber of Muscatine; sisters, Patricia Sexton and Rebecca Green both of Lone Tree, Elizabeth Gerot of Iowa City; and nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by her father and sister, Mary Richard.
