Anna Lois Knapp

Anna Lois Knapp, 87, of Lamoni, died December 25, 2010 in her home following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Lamoni United Methodist Church with Pastor Jodi Rushing officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Iowa Cremation. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, John; her daughter, Martha Ann Knapp of Jewel; grandson, Anthony Knapp of Ames; and one sister Marjorie Paul of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry Paul Knapp; and her brother, Bruce A. Wilson. Anna was born August 10, 1923 in Centerville, Iowa the daughter of Oscar and Artie (Parcel) Wilson. She was united in marriage to John Knapp on June 9, 1946 in Centerville. She attended two years of Junior College at Centerville and one year at Northern Iowa. She taught school to children in many rural Iowa communities. She later was the director of a daycare center in Shenandoah. Through her many years of teaching and caring for young people she touched many lives. She enjoyed bird watching, playing and listening to music with John, knitting and spinning and working for churches in the many communities that she was a part of. She was a member of the Lamoni United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamoni United Methodist Church.
