Wendell G. Dubberke, 73, of Hubbard, IA died suddenly on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at his residence. Per Wendell?s wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial is scheduled at the family farm in Hubbard at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2009. Survivors include his soul mate Chris McCaslin and her son Jason; two sons Kyle & Tammy Dubberke their children Michael, Jennifer, Ryan and Amanda of Arlington, TX, and Kent & Donna Dubberke their children Rosalie and John of Blue Grass, IA; three brothers Forrest Dubberke of Ames, IA, Lowell Dubberke of Hermosa Beach, CA, and Kenneth Dubberke of New Brunswick, Canada; three sisters Janet Uskudarli of Istanbul, Turkey, Patricia Weiss of Omaha, NE, and Yvonne Hartung of Ames, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Wilma Dubberke of Hubbard, IA; a brother Donald Dubberke of Hubbard, IA; and sister and brother-in-law Dolores and Jack Galbreath of Prairie City, IA. Wendell Gail Dubberke was born August 4, 1935 in Eldora, IA the beloved son of John and Wilma (Meeker) Dubberke. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Wendell earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Iowa State University and was employed for 30 plus years with the Iowa Department of Transportation in Ames, IA as a Geologist. He was a member of the Moose, various antique engine and tractor clubs, and the Studebaker Club. Memorials maybe directed to the Dubberke family 29877 JJ Avenue, Hubbard, IA 50122.
