I have and always will remember Gene! He was so much fun and full of life:) His love for the country and horses have impacted my life greatly, his dry sense of humor can make anyone laugh or chuckle. He was always up to something:) The man never sat still, unless it was to enjoy the breeze on the porch or catch a story from a good friend. He was always willing to lend a hand, a tool, or a cinch strap. If he had it, and you needed it he would help. He will always be remember and loved!

MARY ANN, Very Sorry to hear of your loss, Gene was always such a good person to be around. Working with Gene and others like yourself is what made going to work so much more bearable. Though not as many as you would have liked, be thankful for the days you had together.

Gene Rockhold was the schoolmate that used to drive me crazy at Fairview, the one room schoolhouse. Connie Racey and I were one grade behind him, and he teased us both until we were ready to pull our hair out. So sorry to read of his passing. My sympathy to all of his family. I also went to school with Ruthie, Lillie, and Carol. Lots of fond memories of the family.

Greg and Rick, am so sorry to see this news in the paper. I have so many memories of your Dad "Buddy" as I always knew him. Riding or driving Ruby or Rosey the mules. Didn't matter what time of day or night, as long as you had a bottle of Jack and dew and a few good stories to tell or listen to, the ride or the hunt was on. He told me one time "Just as sure as the sun will rise I will be here tomorrow." Buddy I will miss you! My Love to the family.

I just came across this obituary while working on some geneaology. I had heard of his passing last year. My Grandmother is Gene's sister Ila Mae. She spoke fondly of him. My prayers are with you.

My prayers go out to you Mary Ann. I loved to visit with Gene when he would come into first aid at the plant. I had not seen him sense he retired. He always had a smile. He will truly be missed. Thinking of you and the family. Roseann
