To my dear Lee and family: I was so "taken aback" by you mother's Obit in this morning paper! It seems like just 2 weeks ago I had seen her at Mcidee's having breakfast with her 'groupies' from Rockwell or the bike group and we had talked about where you were and how you were doing...Time does seem to fly when conversing with someone you care about! I, of course have lost track of you guys, but Barb was somewhat of a connection when I discovered she was there in McDonald's so I could keep up with your activities...Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss and do call me or send me an e-mail to update me on your family. I am widowed since 2006, but there is no grass growing underneath my feet as I don't linger in one place for very long!! Was there any doubt in your mind? I didn't think so.....!!!I have planned a driving trip to New Mexico for the Balloon Fiesta in October and my kids are giving me all kinds of FLACK about it so that's the kind of world I live in now!!! ha!ha! You guys do the best you can at helping your Dad get thru this time in his life and tell him for me that time will help...trust me! I have lost a son, and a husband and I am still going strong and I know neither one of them would expect anything less of me!!! oh yes, I forgot----I am still driving school bus, but only in the mornings when the kids are still asleep when they get on the bus!!! 41 years!! I think I need a couple of shots of MD 20-20!!!Hey Lee--remember that???? ha!ha! forever yours, the ole'bus driver, Jeri Thomas--keep smilin'!!!!

Roger and family, We were so sorry to see Barb's obituary in today's paper. She put up such a valiant battle, we were hoping maybe she'd be successful again. Roger & family, Thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with the myriad of things that must be done. Today, as I will in the future, think of Barb as I replace worn down or broken lead pencils at church.
I very much enjoyed a friendship with Barb over these many years since first meeting at "I S T C" (Now University of Northern Iowa). Although saddened by her passing, I will always cherish that friendship. With best of wishes, I express my sympathies and send with this note a reassurance of my love for you. Ann
