Gale Lawley

Gale Lawley died in Dallas Texas on Friday, April 3, 2009. Gale was born on January 25, 1930 in Davis Oklahoma to Carl and Hattie (Horn) Lawley. He attended high school in Kilgore, TX, served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict, received a BS degree from Texas Christian University and later attended University of Kansas as a post graduate. He was married to Joyce Oliver from 1963 until her death in 1990. Gale was the City manager at Camden, Arkansas, Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Burlington, Iowa. He was a member of the International City Management Association. He is survived by four children, David (Angie) Lawley of Charlotte, NC, Jason Baker and Kimberly Higbee both of Kansas City, KS and Kristin Lawley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers Wraymon (Jo Ann) Lawley and Tommy (Gloria) Lawley and numerous nieces, nephew and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, and life long companion, Deana Hall. Per Gale''s request no services will be held. The Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting with arrangements. Memorial donations may be directed to the Great River Hospice in Burlington, Iowa.
