Dear Judy and Family, I'm so sorry to hear about Dale. I didn't turn on my e-mail until today so I missed your message yesterday. He was my e-mail buddy and we shared so many fun years at old BHS. Craziness was how we got through high school. He was loved by everyone. My heart goes out to you and your family and may God take care of all of you. Dale is in his hands now. God will have the funniest guy in heaven.

Dear Judy and family....Words don't even come to me right now. I was shocked to hear from Mom after she read your Christmas letter. I'm so sorry that we weren't able to be with you. Dale was one of my most favorite people in this world. You all are! I just can not wrap my head around all that has happened in 2008. You all have always meant so much to me and just knowing Dale is gone will leave a hole in my heart. I know you miss him so much and life will never be the same but just know that you are in my heart. Love always....Heidi

I first met Dale in third grade in a one room country school. He moved back for high school and we were good friends. And I was fortunate enough to renew our friendship (due to Dale's e-mail activities) the last few years. We shared a lot of laughs, a few tears, many jokes and a friendship that has lasted since we were kids. I will miss him terribly.

Judy, Kelly and Family, You have all been in my thoughts and prayers since I first heard of Dale's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. It is hard to express what Dale (and the whole Donald family) meant to a 14 year old girl who was experiencing a grand office in Iowa Rainbow for the first time. The smiles, kindness, and caring that you all shared with my family and I has meant so much over the years. Although we've not been able to see each other recently, your family is a part of many wonderful memories that I carry with me still today. Dale touched many lives, and I know he will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Thank you for sharing your husband and father with us for all of those years. Heidi

Dear Judy and Family, I tore open your Christmas letter with excitement when it arrived this morning. I always look forward to the yearly Donald update. My heart is breaking as I write this. Your incredible loss of Dale and Mark is almost too much to take in. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. God seems to constantly put things in perspective for me. I have continued to mourn the loss of my Dad since he died in July but my pain cannot compare to what you have experienced. We have to trust in God's infinite wisdom and know that our loved ones are at eternal peace in His presence. I thank God for the blessing of having had Dale and your family in my life and for the fellowship of Rainbow that brought us together. I knew I could always count on getting a big hug from Dale! Judy, you and Dale were both so encouraging to Heidi and me during her Grand year 1990-91. Your experience was so helpful. I pray that you have the strength and courage to face the days and weeks ahead. God's blessings to each of you.

35 years ago today - Thanksgiving 1973, Dale and Judy invited a stranger to join them for Thanksgiving. He had been in Lisbon only a few days, but "you took him in" and made him feel welcome. You played matchmaker and as a result, 3 wonderful boys were brought into the world. For them, I am forever grateful. "For what you have done to the least of them, you have done unto Me." May Dale be welcomed into Heaven with the rewards of a life well spent... and may God give comfort to those he's left behind. Until we meet again.
