Dale D. Donald, 66, of 218 Cynthia St. SW. died Tuesday Nov. 25, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Memorial services at 11 AM on Saturday at the Lisbon United Methodist Church where there will also be military rites. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until service time at the Church on Saturday. Rev. Tom Mattson will officiate. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Judy, two daughters, Wendy (Mark) Tangen of Cedar Rapids and Kelly (Kevin) Riley and a son, Marc (Kristina) all of Marion; a sister, Evelyn (Johnny) of Texas and two brothers, Harry (Bonnie) of Bennett and Harley (Joyce) of Marion. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his mother-in-law, Ellen Nelson of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard and a grandson, Lucas. Dale was born on March 19, 1942 in Keosauqua, the son of James and Georgia Brannan Donald. He married Judith A. Nelson on Oct. 18, 1963 in Lisbon. Dale was a shipping clerk at Economy Advertising for six years. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge, the Lisbon American Legion Post No. 109, and proudly served in the United States Army. Dale enjoyed time spent at the family cabin at Paradise Valley. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to everyone. Dale was a very outgoing person who loved his neighbors, and generously was a tissue and organ donor. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
